EEW Energy from Waste:

Communicating the digital transformation.

01

The company:

EEW Energy from Waste is a leader in the generation of environmentally friendly energy from waste.

At 17 plant locations in Germany and Europe, the company employs around 1,400 people to process around 5 million tonnes of waste into electricity, district heating and process steam every year.

Our task:

Advancing digitalisation is also leading to high levels of change in the waste disposal and energy industry.

As the consulting partner of EEW, we are tasked with translating the company’s digitalisation strategy into communication.

Our way:

With a consulting approach that reflects the corporate culture of EEW, we develop the communication for the digitalisation programme. This is based on information, emotion and participation.

  • The EEW DIGITAL programme was started in 2019. As a first step, we launch the DIGITAL CREEW – a team of employees who act as multipliers and communicate the plans, intentions and changes to the workforce.
  • Together with the CREEW, we develop a digitalisation story that acts as a communicative framework for the programme. The governing principle is “We – on the way to the future.”
  • Within this concept, we develop the communication of numerous digitalisation projects with the appropriate managers.
  • All measures, whether films, events, newsletters or intranet contributions, are consistently geared towards the strategic goal and, simultaneously, contribute to the cultural change.
